About JEBO

Launched in spring 1993, JBEO is a not-for-profit organization with offices in the city of Scarborough, Ontario, Canada.

JBEO was initiated due to a community’s grave concern for the preservation of the environment in Jamaica, W.I. as an entire community is gradually deteriorating and thousands of lives are at risk.

Since the onset of their establishment, JBEO has been instrumental in conducting extensive research regarding mining companies both local and internationally. They have compiled vast information on the overall operation of these companies specifically in the island of Jamaica and the effects of their activities on humans and the environment at large.

JBEO is comprised of a team of volunteers from diverse cultures and background who have extended their time and efforts to achieve one common mission.

The organization is founded by residents who went back home as return residents. Strong actions with sometimes necessity to trigger change.

MISSION
JBEO wants a hydrologic study carried out on the Jamaican Environmental Association to ensure they are conforming to the regulations of the international environmental Association. Jamaican environmental regulation is the same as international regulation.

Ensure and maintain our environment is safe, pollution free, and provide education and awareness of environmental issues affecting the citizens of Jamaica, W.I.
